Edward Mountain MSP campaigns for better broadband in the Highlands

The Scottish Government promised us that all of Scotland would receive superfast broadband by 2021.

Having a reliable internet connection is vital for homes, business opportunities as well as the rollout of NHS Highland’s ‘Near Me’ video consultation service.

The Scottish Government have now confirmed that they are unable to deliver superfast broadband to the Highlands and Islands by 2021.

I am concerned that the Highlands might have to wait until 2026 for superfast broadband and I will continue to campaign for a much earlier delivery date.
